Little Sorrento, located in Yorktown Heights at 3565 Crompond Rd. (Route 202) since 1989, celebrated its 35th year in business during an event held on Wednesday, April 3.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, the business, owned by the DePaterio family, offered traditional dishes at the prices they would have been offered in 1989.
This meant dishes like the Chicken Parmigiana Dinner and Large Pizza were $10.95 and $8.00, respectively.
The restaurant also enjoyed a visit from local officials such as Yorktown Deputy Supervisor Ed Lachterman, who celebrated the anniversary with the DePaterios.
"Little Sorrento’s specialty is creating a welcoming atmosphere that lets everyone feel like they are coming to grandma’s house for a delicious Sunday meal," Lachterman said of the eatery.
The restaurant, which enjoys a "devoted following," according to Yorktown officials, serves a variety of specialty pizzas, pasta dishes, and mains such as chicken parmigiana, chicken marsala, eggplant rollatini, and shrimp scampi.
The eatery has been such a hit that nearly every Google review has past customers declaring their love for the place.
"Outstanding in every way," wrote Nicole K. in one such review, who added, "The food is consistently excellent, the waitstaff is always friendly and extremely accommodating."
Marc M. also raved about the eatery in his review: "Authentic Italian flavors, well prepared, in generous portions...The bruschetta is fantastic."
The restaurant's owners thanked their patrons for decades of success.
"From our family to yours, we thank you for sharing so many meals and special occasions with us," the DePaterio family said.
As for what's next, the restaurant will take Mother's Day reservations for its prix fixe dinner on Sunday, May 12. The four-course meal will start at $49.95 for adults and $16.95 for children.
